Easy Posting Guide

We are extremely interested is posting additional photos of Staffordshire figures on the website as a reference resource for all, including figures for sale. Photos of reproductions and fakes are also sought for reference and will be noted as such. (We will not knowingly post reproductions or fakes in the For Sale category.)

To post a photo on the web site please:

Attach a single .jpg photo image at 72 dpi resolution with a height of at least 450 pixels and email to info@staffordshire.org. Each photo should be a close-up of a single piece against a solid color background with a margin of background around the piece. Use multiple emails for multiple photos.

Please include the following information:

  • Name of the Owner, Collection, Dealer or Auction House the piece is from
(Owners/Collectors may list themselves as "Anonymous" if desired)
  • Title of Piece
  • Height of Piece
  • Harding Reference Photograph Number, if any or known

If the piece is For Sale please include the following:

  • Email and/or website address of seller
  • Telephone Number of seller
  • Address of seller (optional)
  • Auction Date (if applicable)
  • Sales Price (or estimated price range for auctions)

Please be sure to let us know if the piece is sold. We will change the "For Sale" designation to "Sold" so you will no longer receive inquiries about sold pieces. Auction items will be considered "Sold" on the date of the auction.

If you need any help or have limited computer skills please write to us at info@staffordshire.org and we will get back to you with help.

Staffordshire.org reserves the right not to post photos we deem unsuitable due to poor quality, duplication or for any other reason. We endeavor—to the best of our knowledge—to post photos only of pieces circa 1790 - 1900, except where we label them clearly as "late" (post 1900), "questionable", or "reproduction". However, it is often difficult to make a determination of authenticity without seeing and handling a piece firsthand. Furthermore, such attribution is often debatable even then, so we cannot function as an all knowing vetting team. Thus, we allow the submitter of a photo to be the judge of the age and authenticity of a particular piece and cannot vouch for such pieces.

Further, we accept photos under the condition that the submitter is the copyright holder of the photo and that by submitting the photo to us the copyright holder is granting us perpetual, royalty-free permission to display the photo on our site. The submitter retains their copyright. Note: in general, if you own the piece and took the photo you are the copyright holder. Please see our User Agreement for further details about materials posted on this site.
